Author Lolis Eric Elie is a New Orleans native and award-winning writer and story editor for the HBO series Treme. Elie’s work appears in Saveur, Bon Appetit, Food Arts and is a contributing writer for Oxford American.

The event will be a celebration of classic and modern New Orleans, as Chef Linton Hopkins draws on memories of his formative years cooking in some of New Orleans' most renowned restaurants. Like the musical notes that compose the great jazz of this iconic city, a suite of delicious tastes and small plates will be presented to guests. Fried Oysters, Gumbo, Étouffée and Chestnut Beignets are among the soulful dishes served at this intimate dinner, which is limited to 16 guests and includes a signed copy of Lolis Elie's book. 

Reservations are required and the cost is $135 per person, prior to tax and gratuity.

This from Chef Anne Kearney, a star formerly of the New Orleans culinary firmament, now back in her home state.

Please mark your calendars; call the restaurant for a reservation: On Wednesday, October 2nd we welcome Lolis Eric Elie, author of the newly released TREME cookbook.

Lolis is an award-winning staff writer and story editor for the HBO series TREME. During our stay in New Orleans his talents shown thru as a columnist for the Times Picayune and since in published articles in Gourmet, Saveur, Bon Appétit to name a few. He uses the voices of the series main characters to highlight the culinary culture that has helped form “The Big Easy” into a well known food destination.

Many of the cities fantastic talents as well as chefs from across the states submitted recipes, myself included. On this particular Wednesday evening as we serve our Louisiana inspired specials we will also roll out a special prix fix menu highlighting 5 of my favorite recipes from the book. I poured thru the book this weekend falling deep into a food coma as I daydreamed of the flavors in a city I so dearly miss. I am putting the finishing touches on the menu this week, I will post it as soon as it is complete. There will be copies of this wonderful book for purchase as well as the man himself, Lolis on site to chat it up and even sign your copy if you’d like. I can hardly wait.
